Dermalive Class Action Settlement

On Friday, October 10, 2014, Justice Sewell of the Supreme Court of British Columbia approved the settlement. The settlement is binding on British Columbia residents who have not opted out and on non-residents who opted in prior to the February 15, 2014 opt in deadline. We expect the settlement will become operational in 2015. Further details will be posted on our website as soon as the Claim Administrator is ready to accept inquiries and claims.

Settlement Reached

A settlement has been reached in the Dermalive Class Action. The Defendants deny the allegations made in the lawsuit, but have agreed to pay $5.6 million dollars to settle the case. The settlement is designed to compensate class members who were injected with Dermalive and later developed granulomas in the areas injected with the dermal filler. To participate you must be a British Columbia resident or a non-BC resident who validly opted into the lawsuit. The next step is to obtain Court approval of the settlement. The hearing is scheduled for October 10, 2014.

Some doctors refused to provide us with the names of the patients they injected with Dermalive, but the doctors have now agreed to send Notice of the class action directly to their patients. See the Notice being mailed to patients. The Opt-in/Opt-out deadline to participate in this class action has been changed to February 15, 2014.
